Our Work
David Yurman
One of America’s foremost luxury jewelry brands known for its iconic collections, sculptural creations, and innovative designs, the family-owned David Yurman not only needed to construct new stores in various locations around the United States, but also had to decommission and relocate fixtures and displays across the country. NFI performed a mixture of new builds, custom installations, and retrofits at 62 David Yurman locations.
David Yurman is a high-end jewelry designer whose store design reflects the sophisticated taste of the high-earning clientele. Custom installations at David Yurman stores require a keen eye for detail and a honed finish carpentry skill set. In many cases, the millwork and fixture packages were produced in Europe, then shipped to the U.S. for installation. NFI was asked to perform a mixture of new builds, custom installations, and retrofits at 62 David Yurman locations across the U.S.
New store construction typically takes place during the daytime, and can range from anywhere between two weeks to two months depending on a variety of factors, including the complexity of the new installation, labor availability, and ongoing supply chain issues from the European market. Decommissioning work often occurs overnight, where NFI teams remove and/or set up the store fixture package after regular business hours.
Project work for David Yurman included installation of perimeter wall panels, in-wall showcases/vitrines, freestanding wood showcases (with either live-edge wood countertops or stone countertops) with additional glass displays set atop. The lower showcases include electronic locking mechanisms, and occasionally automated door openers/sliders and LED lighting. It required close coordination between the NFI team, general contractor, electrician, and low voltage contractor.
NFI successfully executed product installations in David Yurman stores to achieve their goal of a warm, modern design, with soft colors representing the Women’s department, and dark, edgy finishes representing the Men’s department. Additional installations within private VIC (Very Important Client) rooms, featuring hand-painted murals, help to create an unforgettable in-store shopping experience.
